HOW TO FTP TO AN UNIVERSITY SERVER
 
This article is relevant for Staff Members and Students                                                   Afrikaans 
NB! This procedure applies solely to registered pagemasters of University web pages.
 
Open WS_FTP.
On the GENERAL TAG:
1. PROFILE NAME: Choose a name for yourself
2. HOST NAME/ADDRESS: Received after having been registered as pagemaster
3. HOST TYPE: automatic detect
4. USER ID: Received after having been registered as pagemaster
5. PASSWORD: Received after having been registered as pagemaster
6. Tick SAVE PWD only if you do not share your PC with other users.
 

On the STARTUP TAG: Specify the INITIAL REMOTE SITE FOLDER as supplied by the web administrator.

Click APPLY to save the profile.

Click OK to connect to the remote webserver.

If you are uploading from outside of the University's firewall, untick PASSIVE TRANSFERS on the ADVANCED tab.
